explanation

Our laboratory at New York University Abu Dhabi is expanding a team of experts working on the analysis of molecular networks and bioactive molecules in animal development. C. Elegance. We use an interdisciplinary approach to reveal the mechanisms underlying fundamental biomolecular and biochemical processes during embryonic development. A long-standing interest in the lab has been the study of molecular and genetic networks in development and evolution (for some examples see Nature 436 (7052), 861-865; chemistry 330 (6012), 1775-1787; chemistry 330 (6012), 1775-1787; cell 134 (3), 534-545) as well as identifying genetic and chemical perturbations to study their function (for some examples, cell 145(3):470-82; Nature 434(7032):462-9; natural chemical biology 3(1), 55-59; development 143(19):3540-3548).

As a result of the recent discovery of new bioactive molecules from large-scale high-throughput screens, we are now using newly discovered compounds to Nematode Especially towards new anthelmintic development and preclinical studies. The three areas we’re looking to build are:

Research Associate/Postdoctoral Associate in Analytical Metabolomics Nematode using NMR It addresses biological and biophysical NMR spectroscopy in the fields of metabolomics and protein NMR. This research includes the development and optimization of both liquid and solid-state NMR methods. in vivo When there metabolomics studies using Nematode, along with the determination of protein dynamics and interactions. Candidates for this position should have a PhD in chemistry, biotechnology, biophysics or a related field and have well-documented experience in biomolecular NMR. Laboratory skills in liquid and solid-state NMR spectroscopy are required along with sound computer working skills. Like other skills in biochemical analysis, expertise in labeled protein expression and purification is also a priority. (please use it “NMR” when answering this position).

Research Associate/Postdoctoral Associate in Metabolomics Modeling Using Nematode and nematodes To construct in silico Models of molecular and biochemical networks based on transcriptome, metabolome, and genomic data. This position is Nematode or similar models that have a proven ability to analyze metabolomics data and ideally have integrated these data with other omics data such as genetic and transcriptomic data. Candidates should have a PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, biology or a related field and have demonstrated ability to manipulate model organism databases and integrate omics data. (please use it “metabolomics modeling” when answering this position).

All applicants must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills in English, ability to work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment, scientific creativity, curiosity and independence. They join highly motivated groups with expertise ranging from computational skills to cell biology to genetics. NematodeWe are a vibrant multicultural group, with members working in our shared lab space and others in our New York lab.

Successful applicants join a group of institutes in Abu Dhabi led by Professor Fabio Piano and all candidates must be able to obtain a work visa in the United Arab Emirates. Her initial contract is for two years with a normal probationary period, subject to final budget approval. Employment conditions are competitive and include housing and other benefits. Applications will be accepted immediately and the candidate will be considered from her October 1st until the position is filled.

Please submit a cover letter, a research report containing a description of your research findings and research interests, a resume containing a complete list of publications, four references and at least two letters, all in PDF format. If you have any questions, please email us at nyuad.PianoLab@nyu.edu.
