The Little Chapel hosts a huge number of events! Join them on Thursday. September 22 at 4:30 p.m. for the Reverend Gary, Laro Barnes, and Potlack memorial service afterwards. Friday. Sep 23 5:30 p.m. Dinner set. On Saturday, September 24 at 8:30 a.m., there are cups, activities, and church service at 7 p.m. On Sunday, September 25, at 8:30 a.m., there’s a cup. CRWP will host another Gillnet recycling event in 2022. It will take place at the Alaska Commercial Co parking lot (weather permitting) October 12-14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Gill only. Do you need to recycle sine nets? Call CRWP at (907) 424-3334 to schedule a delivery appointment.



  • David Rosenthal hosts “Intro to Painting: Landscape Workshop” every Tuesday from October 4 – November 1 from 6-9pm. The cost is $100 for all classes. Material is provided. Call PWS College at 907-429-7598 or David at 907-424-5613 for more information.
  • Mini Movers: An informal parent/caregiver-led play session designed for preschoolers to explore their physical abilities at their own pace in a fun and safe environment. Tuesdays and Thursdays 10-11 a.m. $2.50 per child.
  • The Cordova Volunteer Fire Department is hosting an EMT-1 class from October 10 through January. The EMT-1 course provides basic life support such as primary airway management, splinting, bleeding control, oxygen therapy, suction, CPR, and some life-saving medications. There are no prerequisites for taking this course. Any interested party may register and will receive a certificate upon completion of the course. Class fee of $800.   • Calling artists and Star Wars collectors! October is Star Wars month at the Cordoba Museum. Contact or call the Cordova Museum at 424-6665 if you have Star Wars-related art or objects you’d like to display.
  • Free Tai Chi lessons on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at Saint Joseph Parish Hall.
  • Community cycling, starting with Cordova Gear. Monday evenings at 5:30 pm, call 907-424-5590 for more information or to rent a bike.
  • After school art begins on September 16th. Friday 1:30 – 3:30 pm in the Cordoba Center Education Room. Ages 8+. Call 6667, stop by the library or email for more information.

  • Current Rhythms host ongoing theater lessons. For grades 4-6, Theater Arts Junior will be hosted on Tuesdays, 5:15 – 6:15 p.m. For grades 7-12, Theater Arts will be hosted on Wednesdays, 5:30-7 p.m. Open registration begins at 1 September in person, or register online at Classes begin September 19.

  • The Salvation Army hosts Negev Sales at 514 First Street. Food distribution is the third Monday of every month. If you need nutritional assistance or are interested in volunteering, please contact Katherine Mead at 907-429-7177. Non-perishable food donations can be dropped into the donation box at the AC Value Center.
