With over 20 years of experience, how does chanting and meditation help you manage stress?
I have been following Buddhism as a life philosophy for over 10 years, and as part of it, I guide for an hour a day. The practice of chanting clears my mind and acts as a strength to start the day.


Is there a particular technique or regimen that you follow on a daily/weekly basis?

Singing is part of the Nichiren Buddhist philosophy, which is a very practical life philosophy based on prayer and then action. The central principle of philosophy is the universal law of cause and effect or “karma.”

Cheering is the starting point. It has helped me immensely in my career journey and making decisions based on the courage and wisdom that inhabit as a result of this practice.

You also do yoga. Is there any specific form you do? How was your experience?
I practice hatha yoga which includes sun salutations, several yoga pellets, and concluding with pranayama. I have greatly enjoyed yoga as a form of exercise for 8 years.

I do it three times a week. It keeps me flexible, fit and energetic all day long. It is a wonderful healing tool, many pellets and practicing pranayama techniques help me maintain hormonal balance in the body, as well as increase immunity.

Why do you think it is necessary for everyone to practice some form of meditation or activity to help calm the mind?

Singing or meditating is necessary for all of us, to take some time out of our usual routine and step back, and focus on silence and self-awareness.

It helps rationalize the mind, strengthen self-belief and positivity, and provide the discipline to work towards our best potential.

Is there any background information on applying the principles of meditation, yoga or swimming to help your driving style?

Practicing chanting daily along with aerobic exercise by way of yoga or swimming gives super strength for every day. It creates rhythm and discipline in life that helps maintain physical and mental health.

Moreover, it creates a meaningful balance that strengthens the mind to handle stressful situations with determination.

Practicing chanting/therapy brings perspective and patience and helps me take full control and responsibility even in the toughest situations.

It provides emotional strength, courage and flexibility as a leader, to be able to justify, make well-thought-out decisions and have the courage to take a tough stance and at the same time, build a compassionate work environment, without compromising results and performance.
